Should we give her the birthday gift now, or wait until her birthday?
My daughter turns one on June 16, and my MIL ordered a small flat screen TV for her that arrived yesterday. Before any bashes and lectures about her watching TV, we’d like to transition her into playing with her toys in her room [with myself or her dad, of course] more often, so our living room isn’t constantly littered with toys. Our cable company has a kids music channel that I play in the living room and we sing and dance, and I’d like to be able to put it on when we play in her room. She also watches Baby Einstein DVD’s on occasion and does enjoy watching Yo Gabba Gabba every now and then. Anyway — back to my question. Her gift arrived and her dad is ready to open it up and install it, while I think it should be wrapped and opened at her birthday party with her other gifts. He says she’s not going to remember or know how to open her gifts anyways, so it’s not a big deal. What would you do?
