Should i give these teen mothers condoms? ?
This christmas I am visiting an orphanage/group home to pass out gifts and meet with the kids. I am making gift bags for them all, the younger kids are getting stuff like candies, crayons, etc.
Well, there are 5 teen mothers there. They are all there with my children. I have already bought them make-up bags and plan on filling them with nail polish, lotion, etc but I want to include a few condoms in each bag as well. It seems like abstinence didn’t work for them; why not prepare them from bringing more babies into the world? I am 24, had my son at 22 and am finishing college next year. I want to make an impression on them that you have to be careful and that they can still do great things even if they had a child young.
so, appropriate or not? I plan on being very discreet with that part since my uncle, mother and aunt are also coming and my aunt/uncle are very religious.
MMFCL: um, yes. I know why these girls got pregnant. they aren’t rape victims.
and i’m not judging them. they are in a orphanage, which means they do not have family to guide them along. wow, i love hoe people are so against sexual education and condoms, but when these girls have babies you scream about welfare and the like.
and it’s not public. i am going and giving each one their own gift.
